Hypertension is a chronic condition that increases the risk of cardiovascular complications if not properly managed. Unstable blood pressure affects physiological conditions and causes symptoms such as headaches, muscle tension, sleep disturbances, and a reduced quality of life. Nonpharmacological interventions back massage with slow movements are used to promote relaxation and reduce pain responses. This study aims to evaluate nursing care for patients with hypertension using SSBM to lower blood pressure and reduce headaches. A case study design with a nursing process approach was used. The study subject was a 47-year-old female patient suffering from hypertension and acute pain (pain scale of 6). SSBM was administered for 10 minutes per session, once daily for three days, in combination with standard care. The results showed a decrease in blood pressure, reduced pain intensity, increased relaxation, and improved sleep quality. SSBM is effective, comprehensive, and sustainable in managing hypertension, improving patient well-being holistically and with a long-term orientation.
